Below are my five best blog posts along with who they were to and where they can be found.

1.) Kelsey Hoyes – Article

This is a really relevant article choice that highlights many issues in our society today. Although we know that these risks exist with smartphones, I don’t think that people realize how serious the consequences can be. This is a very broad article and you can tackle it in many different ways, depending on what approach you want to take (whether you want it to be a subtle, hidden message or painstakingly obvious). Remember to think about your target audience carefully as it really impacts the strength of your message and how it is interpreted.

2.) Kelsey Hoyes – Concept Thumbnails

You’ve got some really good ideas! Personally, my favorites are 1,2 and 5. I think you should look further in to your fifth thumbnail as it could be very emotionally and visually effective and you may have overlooked the capability of that idea! The hidden appearance of the man will be a very important aspect when portraying the mysteries and dangers of online dating. Rather than disguising him in sunglasses and a hat, you could look more into shadowing his appearance, which would also give it a spooky element. I think by also shadowing the figure, it removes the physical appearance and gender of them. This then dodges arguments that women can also be dodgy to meet through online dating, otherwise it could be seen as a stereotypical representation! You’ve got some really great ideas that are all quite different from one another and this gives you many alternatives and options! Can’t wait to see which one you choose!

3.) Kate Hobb’s – Communication Objectives

You’ve chosen an extremely relatable topic to society today and you clearly feel very strongly about it, which is an awesome start! You’ve done some good research into it and there are multiple ways for you to construct your image. I think it is important that you choose a main aspect to tackle so that the image is simple, clear and has a strong message. Looking forward to seeing how you visually portray it!

4.) Sophie Gleason – Thumbnail sketches

You’ve got some really good ideas for your final image. The fifth sketch could be really effective but I think that it is important that you have an easily recognizable piece of food that they are both holding to add the element of relatability. For some reason I am imagining a banana thats skin is damaged or blacking… The man could be throwing it out while the woman is peeling back the skin and exposing a perfectly good banana on the inside! I also think that you should look further into your second sketch as I think it portrays a clear message and could be quite powerful! The close-up of it will keep it simple and the viewers’ focus will not wander to undesired parts of the image. Develop that one further and see what you can come up with!

5.) Bianca Fisher – Source Photos

Hi Bianca, these images have come out really well and I can definitely see them blending together effectively. The contrast of colours with the hand and the blue pills is extremely eye catching and is both mentally and physically strong. While putting these images together make sure to remember the leading lines as it will help emphasize aspects of the entire image. Majority of the photos are all strong and in focus, however there are a few that are out of focus so be sure to take this into consideration for your final image!
